About the Winter Walks Challenge
Who is the Winter Walks Challenge For?
If you’re tired of letting winter slip by in a blur of indoor hibernation and missed moments, this challenge is crafted especially for you. You may resonate with the Winter Walks Challenge if:
You find yourself spending too much time indoors during the colder months.
The short days and long nights leave you feeling sluggish or blue.
You want to create magical winter memories instead of just waiting for spring.
Snow was falling, so much like stars filling the dark trees that one could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than prettiness.

Challenge FAQs
What is a walking prompt?
Walking prompts for the Winter Walks Challenge are guiding ideas that deepen your experience of the winter season. They encourage you to fully engage with winter’s sights, sounds, and sensations during your walks. These prompts help you notice the subtle beauty in snow-covered landscapes, appreciate winter’s unique stillness, and reflect on seasonal themes. By focusing your attention on elements like the crunch of snow, the crisp air, or the stark silhouettes of bare trees, these prompts enrich your connection to winter and enhance your seasonal walking experience.
Where should I walk?
The great news is that you can walk anywhere you feel comfortable! The challenge is designed to be flexible and accommodate your preferences and circumstances. Here are some options:
- Close to home: Take a stroll around your neighborhood, local park, or nearby nature trail.
- Urban areas: Explore city streets, urban parks, or botanical gardens in your town or city.
- Rural settings: If you have access to countryside, farms, or woodlands, these can be perfect for winter walks.
- On a trip: If you’re traveling, feel free to incorporate your winter walks into your journey. This could be a great way to experience winter in different locations.
The key is to choose a location that’s convenient and enjoyable for you. The Winter Walks Challenge is all about experiencing the season, so pick a spot where you can comfortably observe and connect with winter changes. Remember, the flexibility of the challenge means you can vary your walking locations throughout the season if you wish.
What if I live in an area where Winter is at a different time of the year?
Currently, we run this challenge only December – January. However, we understand that winter occurs at different times in various parts of the world. If you live somewhere where winter happens outside these months and you’re interested in participating, please email us at hello@100walks.com. If we receive enough interest from different regions, we may consider opening the challenge at alternative times of the year to accommodate more participants. We’d love to hear from you and potentially expand our offering!
